About Us

Serving Our Community Since 1934

Founded in 1934, Elrama Volunteer Fire Company has proudly served Union Township and the surrounding communities of Washington County, Pennsylvania for over 90 years. As a fully volunteer department, we are driven by a shared commitment to protect life, property, and the well-being of our neighbors through emergency response, fire prevention, and public service.

What began as a small group of dedicated citizens has grown into a modern fire company equipped with skilled volunteers, cutting-edge equipment, and a deep-rooted sense of community responsibility. Over the decades, we have answered thousands of calls ranging from structure fires and vehicle accidents to medical emergencies and public safety incidents. Each call reflects our core purpose: to be there when our community needs us most.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they share one thing in common: a desire to serve. Whether it is training for emergencies, maintaining our equipment, educating the public, or responding in the middle of the night, our members are ready to act at a moment’s notice.

In addition to emergency response, Elrama VFC actively participates in community events, conducts hands-on training sessions, and offers mutual aid support to neighboring departments. We believe fire service is not just about what we do; it is about who we are, a team of neighbors helping neighbors.
